Launch of Al Fatih Movie and Series
Qatar: Friday, October 29 - 2010 at 15:00

Alnoor Holdings Qatar established a joint venture with Kalinos Holdings, one of the largest and prominent media groups in Turkey to produce a 'Hollywood' style movie and a high quality series on the Great Caliph Sultan Muhammad Al Fatih. This is the largest media venture between the Arabic world and Turkey amounting to an initial investment of US$ 50 million for the movie, and will inevitably stimulate dynamic creativity in the media industry through the convergence of mind-sets that have several centuries of history together.
The production endeavours to promote and revitalize values of respect, tolerance and freedom that were central to the inspirational and powerful leadership of Al Fatih as highlighted in the famous oath known as the 'Firman', the oldest document ratifying religious tolerant and providing a basis for a system of justice and religious rights in Europe. It will also shed light on the interface between the Arabic world and the Ottomans during this important era in history. The series will be presented in both Arabic and Turkish constituting a 2.5 hour 'Hollywood' style movie and 30 hours of episodes, and shall be dubbed into other languages.
This announcement marks the beginning of consolidating knowledge from history and taking on the challenge of presenting a factual account of events that need to be presented to do justice to the legacy of the Great Sultan. It will also stimulate future ventures of this kind in the field of media and emerging areas that are rapidly advancing in the region.
